The CARGEN technology developed by our team has once again been highlighted by several media outlets. Qatar National Research Fund featured an article in the November edition of their “Research Matters Newsletter” (link). Qatar Foundation has also featured a story on the technology recently (link). The newspaper, Gulf-Times, also has an article following up on the team’s “QF Innovator of the Year 2020” award (link).
An excerpt from the Gulf-Times Article: “To understand the economic benefits of this project, one can look at the high current market prices of MWCNTs, which revolve around 500-1000 USD/kg. However, a preliminary techno-economic assessment has shown that CARGEN™ can reduce this price by at least 50 times due to its ability to use cheaply available CO2, and co-produce syngas that is compatible with downstream gas processing applications.”
